He asked his mother why she was saying this ti him. She responded: Your holding the blade's sharp edge in your hand as you handed me the knife to prevent injury showed the care and compassion you have for others. THE PALACE OF ILLUSIONS  - BY CHITRA BANERJEE THE PALACE OF ILLUSIONS is a masterpiece which narrates the well-known story of MAHABHARATA  but with a new angle .The story of this book is the same ancient story of two warring cousins which ultimately ends with  the most catastrophic war in the kurukshetra region of INDIA.The story is being told from the point of view Draupadi. In this book,Draupadi is not depicted as a victim but as a game-changer. The writing style of the author is so elegant and beautiful.Best thing about this book is that the writer has been wonderfully successful in blowing  reader's mind by narrating the incidents in super poignant way .I think this book is a must-read for all the feminists out there. The story in this book revolves more around Draupadi unlike other versions of Mahabharata where it is more about the males of the epic. This book got widely praised by international magazines like the NEW YORK TIMES.It portrays Draupadi as powerful,de...
